How to: customize what you Follow on Wiser

Wiser is made to fit your content needs. Tailor your personal recommendations by following Topics, Sources and Keywords. Following what you're interested in helps the Wiser Intelligence Engine capture all the news you need to know. Learn how the Wiser Intelligence Engine works here.

You can also follow Groups, Colleagues and Tags and be notified when new content has been shared by a colleague, to a group or marked with a tag you follow. 

Follow topics & sources

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Topics or Sources toggle

You can sort topics and sources by industry and subject, as well as alphabetically. You can also view all topics and sources that are available in the Wiser database or filter to see only what your colleagues are following.

Click the Follow button next to a Topic or Source you want to follow--any topic you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Topics" and sources are found under "Sources"

From the search bar:

Type the topic or source you want to follow in the search bar

Click the Follow button next to that item in the search bar to follow and add it to your Follow bar

Note: To view content about a certain topic or from a specific source, simply click on it from your Follow bar or from the search bar.

Follow keywords

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Keywords toggle to see a list of all keywords and specific phrases your colleagues on Wiser are following

Click the Follow button next to a Keyword you want to follow--any keyword you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Keywords"

From the search bar:

Type the keyword in the search bar. Use the same search techniques that you would use in Google or your preferred search engine. For example, if you’re looking for a specific phrase, put the phrase in quotes (ex.  “healthcare innovation”). Or, if you’re looking for something that is a cross between topics, use search operators like AND, OR ( “healthcare innovation” AND mobile).

Press enter to search and see all of the relevant article matches

Press the Follow button next to the keyword to Follow and add it to your Follow bar

Note: To view content containing or about a keyword, simply click on it from your Follow bar or from the search bar. 

Follow colleagues

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Colleagues toggle to see a list of all users in your Wiser account

Click the Follow button next to the names of the colleagues you want to follow--the name of any colleague you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Colleagues"

From the search bar:

Type the name of the colleague you want to follow in the search bar

Click the Follow button next to the name of the colleague in the search bar to follow

Note: When a colleague you're following shares an article, you'll receive an in-product notification next to their name on your Follow bar.

Follow groups

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Groups toggle to see a list of all groups in your Wiser account

Click the Follow button next to groups you want to follow--any group you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Groups"

From the search bar:

Type the name of the group you want to follow in the search bar

Click the Follow button next to the group in the search bar to follow

Note: When someone shares an article to a group you're following, you'll receive an in-product notification next to their name on your Follow bar.

Follow tags

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Tags toggle to see a list of all tags used in your Wiser account

Click the Follow button next to a tag you want to follow----any tag you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Tags"

From the search bar:

Type the tag you want to follow in the search bar

Add the tag to your Follow bar by clicking the Follow button in the search bar

Note: When a new article is tagged with a tag you're following, you'll receive an in-product notification next to the tag name on your Follow bar.

Follow advanced searches

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Select the Advanced Searches toggle to see a list of the advanced searches set up by your colleagues on Wiser

Click the Follow button next to an Advanced Search you want to follow----any advanced search you follow is automatically saved and displayed on your Follow bar under "Advanced Searches"

Unfollow

From the Follow menu:

Click on the gear icon next to I'm Following on the Follow bar or select Edit Following from the drop-down menu next to Profile in the navigation bar

Click the Following button next to anything you want to unfollow and it will be instantly removed

From the search bar:

Type the topic, source, keyword, colleague, group or tag in the search bar

Click the Following button to unfollow
