How to: create/join and manage a group

Use groups to share and collaborate around topics, job functions or ideas of common interest. When you join, create or are added to a group, you’ll receive an email notification whenever an article is shared to the group.

Create a group

Click on the your Organization tab on the follow bar

Click on the Create a New Group button

Name your group and enter the email addresses of the colleagues you’d like to be apart of the group–the colleagues you invite will receive an email notifying them of the group.  Then click Create Group .  Note:  You can also add colleagues after creating the group, and y ou can add colleagues to the group even if they’re not on Wiser. By adding them to the group, they’ll first receive an invitation to join Wiser.

As the group admin, you can choose to add Follows for the group. Press the follow button on any topic, source or keyword you want the group to follow.

To view your group, click on < Go to [the name of your group]. You can edit what the group follows by clicking Edit [name of your group] Follows and you can invite colleagues to join this group by selecting Invite Colleagues on the group page.

Join a group

Click on the your Organization tab on the follow bar

Under [ your organization’s name] Groups, click on the group you’d like to join

Click the Join Group button

You are now a member of the group

Manage a group

To access the admin dashboard to manage your group, click on the group from your follow bar. Then click on Edit [Group Name] Follows on the right-side bar. 

Change topics/sources preferences

Click on the Topics or Sources tab

Click the Follow button next to an item you want the group to follow

Your changes will be reflected in the External feed on the group page

Add users

Click on the Colleagues tab

Click the Add button next to a colleague’s name [or] click Invite Colleagues at the bottom of the page to invite someone not yet on Wiser

Remove users

Click on the Colleagues tab

Click the Remove button next to a colleague’s name

Leave a group

Click on the your Organization tab on the follow bar

Under [Your Organization’s Name] Groups, click on the group you’d like to leave

Click Leave This Group

You are no longer a member of the group
